A Hugo boilerplate for creating a blog site backed with Netlify CMS for content authoring and Netlify Identity for CMS user authentication. One of the key benefits of Netlify CMS is its ability to integrate with static site generators, which offer significant performance benefits over traditional CMS platforms. By using a static site generator and Netlify CMS together, developers can create fast, scalable, and secure websites with a modern content management experience.

Static Generation CMS/Landing Page

This is to show the skills on deploying Hugo CMS and static generation pages using Netlify which is a very fast performance. This is a boilerplate deployed on Github and integrated with Contentful and use Hugo for SSG or a static site generator (SSG).

SKILLS USED: Create a faster website than traditional CMS using static site generator (SSG) and Markdown. Convert HTML to Markdown. Deploy a site like this on Netlify and Github.

In general, static site generators like Hugo are faster than dynamic CMS platforms like WordPress. This is because static sites are pre-built and do not require server-side processing or database queries to generate pages on the fly.

When using a CMS like WordPress, each time a page is requested, the server must execute a series of scripts to generate the page based on the database content and other dynamic factors. This process can take time and resources, particularly on sites with a lot of traffic or complex functionality.

In contrast, static site generators like Hugo build the pages in advance, so each page is served as a simple HTML file with minimal processing required. This can result in much faster load times, lower server resource usage, and improved scalability.

That being said, the actual speed of a website depends on many factors beyond just the CMS platform used. For example, factors such as the hosting environment, server configuration, caching, and site optimization can all have a significant impact on page load times.

So while it is generally true that static site generators like Hugo are faster than dynamic CMS platforms like WordPress, it is important to evaluate the specific needs and requirements of your website to determine which platform is the best fit for your project.
